Kindergarden-8th Grade Students are invited to join Joy Book Club, a reading program where they can earn a custom-made pin for every book they read.
How Does It Work?
Step 1: Read A Book
Our Media Library offers a wide range of Christian books for kids and youth of all ages. Adventure, mystery, comedy and history are all represented. Best of all, more are constantly being added!
The books eligible for this program are those that are available in the Spirit of Joy Media Library. However, it doesn’t matter where you receive the book. If you do not want to check out a book from our library, you can pick up a copy at your local library or buy one of your own.
Step 2: Tell Us About It
After completing your book, tell us what you learned and liked (or didn’t like) by filling out the J.B.C. Book Report. You can either print out the PDF to turn it in personally, or you can fill the form out electronically through our online submission page. Both options are available below.
Step 3: Earn A Pin
Once we have received your book report, you have officially earned a pin! Each pin in custom made, so we will let you know by email when it is available for pickup.
All pins will need to be picked up at the Spirit of Joy Church lobby on Sundays between 10:30 am-1:00 pm. The pin will be waiting for you at the information table with your name on it.
If you are not able to pick the pin up on the Sunday it is ready, don’t worry! Pins can be accumulated and picked up within 3 months of being earned.
In addition to earning a pin, you will also be invited to join us for fun book-related events held throughout the year. It’s great to read books alone, but it’s even better with friends!

Q: Do I have to be a member of Spirit of Joy to participate?
A: No! We are all about sharing the joy of reading, no matter what church you attend.
Q: What if I’m not able to pick up the pin in person?
A: Although we don’t ship pins, you can have someone else pick them up for you.
Q: What if the book I want to read isn’t in the SOJ Media Library?
A: Unfortunately, we are only able to award pins for the books in the media library. However, if there is a book series you would like us to consider adding, you can submit your recommendation at the bottom of this web page.
